Northeast Oceans Oysters
Island CreekSince 1992 Island Creek Oysters, voted the best overall oyster in the country, has been harvesting the finest oysters for restaurants across the country. Grown by Skip Bennett and his gang of Duxbury oyster farmers, Island Creeks have an amazing butter-and-brine taste. Every single one is delightfully firm and beautifully clean tasting, qualities that enabled Island Creek to win Best Oyster at the largest blind oyster tasting ever held.Blue PointOur Blue Points are a product of the Northwestern Long Island Sound, the result of a unique blend of aquaculture and natural development. When the Blue Points have attained the size of a dime, the oysters are transferred from the nursery beds to either the warmer, phytoplankton-rich shallows of coastal Connecticut (thereby accelerating the Blue Point’s rate of growth), or to the cold, deep recesses of the Sound (termed “storage beds”) where the oysters continue at a much slower rate. By employing such methods, Blue Point fishery is able to supply us with oysters that are remarkably consistent in size, shape, cup definition, cleanliness, flavor and texture. Winter availability is more or less unparalleled in the North Atlantic oyster industry. Name recognition, incredible consistency all from a trusted family fishery that has been responsibly harvesting oysters from the same waters for six generations.WellfleetOur Wellfleet oysters are grown out of and harvested in from the estuaries of Wellfleet Harbor in the Northeastern region of Cape Cod Bay, providing an idyllic setting for the aquaculture operations which have made the name Wellfleet synonymous with premium grade oysters. Relatively limited availability combined with their exceptional quality has made the Wellfleet oyster one of the most highly sought after and recognizable varieties of oyster anywhere in the world - an oyster of exceptional consistency.

Earth Day!
Earth Day, April 22nd, reminds us all here at Northeast Oceans of why our mission is so important. From the sustainable seafood - to the earth-friendly packaging - we will, as a modern-day Ebenezer Scrooge might say, "...honor Earth Day in our hearts, and try to keep it all the year!"

New Packaging that is great for the enviroment
Dole & Bailey is excited to announce that starting on March 23rd we will debut the most Eco Friendly seafood packaging available. We have worked with an industry leader in biodegradable plastics and boxes to create the finest packaging available. The plastic was tested by a third party auditor and met with the ASTM D1991 standard for Biodegradable Plastic. Our two box system will consist of a Naturally Biodegradable Plastic Fish Tub placed inside a compostable two layer water tight cardboard box. This will completely eliminate all use of Styrofoam in the D&B Seafood Department. Dole & Bailey is proud of the standard this will set in quality and environmental commitment in seafood packaging. We look forward to sharing it with you and continuing our effort in minimizing our Carbon Footprint without sacrificing the outstanding quality of food we deliver to you and your customers.
